I Could Not Resist....

So I was sitting around today, just piddling, when I decided to do a super duper small, mini length check.

I went to my bathroom, plugged up my trusty old Sedu (and set it to 280), and unraveled one of my braids. After I ran a comb through said section, I lightly ran my flatiron thru it ( just enough to loosen it up but not straighten it. I also didn't bother to get my roots--believe me when I say that I have some new growth. I'll be 8 weeks post on Thursday).

Lo and behold, my wacktastic flatiron job revealed that my hair is now touching BSL! For the record, it took me 9 months just to touch BSL coming from APL. I'm super excited and I can't wait to see what my hair will look like when I decide to straighten it for real (probably around November or December). Also, let this prove that my line of thinking was correct: my hair likes to be left alone. Yeah, bunning it was cool and the low manipulation styles were great. However, I'm learning that if I braid my hair up and leave it alone, it pretty much does its thing.

Anyway, without further ado, my hair. :)

**Side note: please forgive me and my Miss Celie braids. Like I said, this particular length check was random and haphazard....and I'm still wigging it up so...yeah**

:hits celebratory dougie: I'm so excited y'all!!!!!

  1. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP! After your relaxer you will unequivacably undeniably be bra strap length! I don't even wanna hear any of that "i'm not claiming it yet" crap! You ARE SO THERE! That touch up is gonna be amazing and nine months is pretty fast!!!! I've been full APL for a year now...still not BSL. :( So you and your hair did the dang thang! It looks great.

  2. @EbonyCPrincess Thanks!! Girl, I'm claiming it! I've worked so hard to get to this point, I'm shouting it from the rooftops lol

You WILL make it to BSL, I know you will. I'm finding that instead of a SL/APL hump, there is definitely an APL/BSL hump. You're going to get there. I just know it! :)

  4. Congrats Sharday! You need to find a place show off your accomplishment (did someone say HOMECOMING?)

I'm an avid reader of both you an Ebony's blogs - y'all are sorors after all. I take a lot of inspiration from your journey, though it gets frustrating sometimes. I'm kind of stuck between SL/APL so I love seeing you guys reach your goals. Inspiration for us all.

@Life In a Shoe Thanks! Lawd, don't let me get to showing out at somebody's homecoming lol. Although....I could show out during Magic City Classic lol

I'm so glad that you follow my blog and all my ramblings about my hair and what I do to it. I'm glad that I can be a source of inspiration.

Don't fret about the SL/APL hump, you'll make it to APL before you know it! :)

  11. @ My Healthy Hair Journey Thanks!!! I can only imagine how the rest of my sections are going to look. Straightening it is definitely going to take some effort on my part now (not that it didn't before...I just have more hair :) )
